• Consult with Your Practitioner: Before your appointment, discuss your medical history, including any medications, supplements, or herbal products you’re currently taking.
• Avoid Certain Medications and Supplements: If medically advisable, stop taking aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and vitamin E supplements 3-5 days before your treatment. These substances can increase the risk of bruising and bleeding at the injection site. Refrain from consuming green tea during this period, as it may also contribute to bruising.

How Is Nuceiva™ Administered?

Nuceiva™ injections are performed in a minimally invasive procedure, similar to other injectables offered at our practice. The Nuceiva™ treatment is designed to be quick and efficient, allowing you to achieve noticeable results with little to no downtime.

Very small amounts of the Botulinum Neuromodulator are injected directly into the targeted muscles using a sterile, tiny needle. This process typically creates a small, hive-like bump at the injection site, which usually subsides within 15 to 30 minutes.

Your Nuceiva™ injection appointment is generally brief and usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes, making it a convenient option for those with busy schedules.

Recovery from Nuceiva™ Injections

After receiving Nuceiva™ injections, you can expect a relatively smooth recovery process with minimal disruption to your daily routine. However, a few important post-treatment care guidelines must be followed to ensure the best possible results.

• Do not touch or rub the areas where Nuceiva™ was injected for the rest of the day. This helps prevent the product from migrating to unintended areas, ensuring it remains effective in the targeted muscles.
• Avoid lying down for the remainder of the day to avoid putting pressure on the treatment areas. This helps the product settle properly and reduces the risk of unintended side effects.
• Avoid strenuous activities and exercise for at least 24 hours after your injections. Engaging in extraneous activities too soon can increase the chances of bruising and swelling at the injection sites.
• Some patients may experience a slight headache after treatment, which is a normal and temporary side effect. If you feel any discomfort, you can take Tylenol to alleviate it, but avoid other pain relievers like aspirin, as they can increase the risk of bruising.
