Ultherapy Treatment in Oakville, Ontario
For many patients, achieving smooth skin and a more defined jawline and brow are important aspects of anti-aging. Factors such as genetics and years of sun exposure contribute to lines, wrinkles, and, most frustrating of all, sagging skin. While facelifts and neck lifts have traditionally been the procedures of choice for these age-related cosmetic changes, not everyone is a candidate for surgery. Additionally, some patients feel that their aging isn’t advanced enough to warrant a surgical procedure.
Patients now have a non-surgical option to treat wrinkles and sagging skin: Ultherapy, also known as Ulthera. This innovative treatment is a non-invasive, FDA-cleared procedure that can tighten the skin and correct localized areas of skin laxity along the brow, jawline, and décolletage.
Discover how this popular skin-tightening treatment in Oakville, Ontario, can help you regain a more refreshed, youthful appearance.
What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound waves that target the deeper layers of the dermis in specific areas of the face. In response, cells produce healing collagen that will tighten the jaw line and lift the brow. Ulthera can also improve loose skin under the chin area. Ulthera can be used safely on all skin types in both males and females.
How Does It Work?
Ultherapy®/Ulthera uses ultrasound technology to target the deeper layers of the dermis. By delivering a mild, controlled injury to the deeper tissues, collagen production is stimulated. Collagen is essential for healthy skin and is responsible for the tight, supple skin texture that is present when we’re younger. Ultherapy®/Ulthera essentially jumpstarts the body’s own skin-building process at the source, eventually revealing tighter, smoother skin. Since collagen growth is a gradual process, it can take anywhere from 4–6 months to see the full result, which is when we will see you back for your post-procedure photos.
While similar treatments require more aggressive techniques, this is the only non-invasive procedure cleared by the FDA to lift skin. And because it uses ultrasound imaging, it provides a helpful visual of the tissue being targeted, allowing for the most precise, effective treatment.

Is It Right For Me?
This procedure will benefit patients who are not quite ready for a facelift or other surgical intervention but would like the subtle appearance of tighter, more youthful skin along their facial contours. Ultherapy®/Ulthera is an excellent non-invasive treatment that can be used on all skin tones and is well-suited for both males and females. People seeking this treatment typically exhibit the following:
- Moderate skin laxity on the face, neck, and chest
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Mildly drooping brow
If you have more advanced signs of age – such as significant sagging and deep skin folds – you may want to consider a surgical option like a facelift or neck lift. At your consultation for Ultherapy in Oakville, Ontario, we will carefully evaluate your candidacy for this treatment and recommend other procedures that best suit your needs. Whether you’re seeking a dramatic transformation or simply subtle rejuvenation, we will provide you with a customized treatment plan to achieve your cosmetic goals.
What to Expect?
At the time of your consultation, it will be determined whether medication will be given to help you achieve comfort during your procedure. If it is needed, you will require a drive home after your treatment. After cleansing the skin and identifying the specific areas to be treated, your highly-skilled nurse will apply the ultrasound gel and place the smooth treatment applicator against your skin. They will use Ultherapy®’s ultrasound imaging to first see deep within the skin to determine optimal placement of the treatment energy and then deliver the focused ultrasound energy beneath the skin’s surface.
During the treatment delivery, you will feel tiny amounts of energy being deposited to precise depths, indicating that the collagen-building process has been initiated. There is minimal to no downtime post-treatment with the Ultherapy® procedure, and patients can return to work immediately.
How Long Will Ultherapy Results Last?
Typically, the results appear over the first 2 to 3 months after the Ultherapy® treatment. These results then last for up to 2 years, as your body’s collagen production takes full effect. Other factors, such as age, depth of treatment, and adherence to post-treatment instructions, directly influence how quickly you see results.
What to Do after Ultherapy
Following your treatment, you might notice an immediate tightening of the treated skin area. Alongside this, there might also be redness, swelling, or a tingling sensation – all of which are entirely normal and should subside shortly. Here are some additional points to keep in mind during the post-treatment phase:
- It’s important to steer clear of direct sun exposure. If avoiding the sun isn’t possible, use sunscreen with SPF 30 or SPF 50 to protect your skin.
- If you’re taking any medications, discuss them during your consultation.
- Follow the prescribed guidelines regarding specific skincare products for the time being.
- Adhere to the post-treatment instructions provided during your consultation. These instructions can be tailored to your individual needs, considering factors such as your medical history and age.
